Cowboy Stories, Poetry & Western Songs at Fort Lancaster

Step back in time at historic Fort Lancaster in Fort Lupton, Colorado, for an unforgettable Western heritage experience filled with cowboy poetry, storytelling, music, humor, and an optional hearty chuckwagon meal featuring slow-smoked brisket, creamed corn, smoked potatoes, rolls or cornbread, and a delicious dessert.

Presented by the Colorado Cowboy Gathering and the South Platte Valley Historical Society, this intimate afternoon and evening event features acclaimed cowboy poet Ken Cook and award-winning Western musician Paul Larson performing against the backdrop of one of Colorado’s most unique historic settings. Guests will have time to explore the fort, meet the performers, enjoy great stories and songs, and share in the spirit of the American West the way it was meant to be experienced — through community, laughter, music, and tradition.
